Validate your process in the D-Innocenter
At our 2,000 m² D-Innocenter in Sevenum, you can test your product and process setup before final engineering. Under near-industrial conditions, we investigate how your product behaves in the process and whether the proposed setup delivers the required result.
For complete installations, the D-Innocenter also provides the space to assemble and verify the system before shipment. By moving more validation and preparation to Sevenum, you gain greater certainty about the process and a better basis for planning installation and start-up.
Reduce uncertainty before start-up
Before a new production line reaches your production site, you want to know whether the process works with your actual product. You also need confidence that the required capacity and product quality can be achieved.
The D-Innocenter helps move critical testing and verification to an earlier stage of the project. We can validate the process before final engineering and, for complete lines, verify the installation before shipment. This allows adjustments to be made while the project is still at Dinnissen, instead of during installation or commissioning at your site.
For projects using Dinnissen’s Vertical Start-up approach, the complete line is assembled in Sevenum in the configuration in which it will later operate. The line is run with the customer’s actual product and checked against the agreed performance requirements before shipment. As a result, less technical work remains to be resolved during on-site commissioning.

Test the process, verify the installation
The D-Innocenter supports two different stages of a project. Process validation takes place before final engineering. Installation verification takes place once the line has been engineered and built.
Test hall: validate the process
In the test hall, we use your actual product to investigate whether a proposed process works as intended. Individual machines can be tested separately or combined into an integrated setup. The results provide practical data for final engineering and scale-up.
FAT hall: verify the installation
Once the installation has been engineered and built, it can be assembled and verified in the FAT hall before shipment. Adjustments can be handled at Dinnissen instead of during installation at your production site. This reduces the work required on site and helps shorten installation and commissioning.
What can you test in the D-Innocenter?
The test setup depends on your process question. We can test one machine or combine the relevant process steps to evaluate how the setup performs with your product.
- Product quality and homogeneity
- Check whether the process delivers the required product properties and mixing result.
- Capacity and process performance
- Measure whether the machine or line reaches the required output under practical conditions.
- Product behavior
- Investigate how the material responds during handling and processing, including flow behavior or product breakage where relevant.
- Dust, hygiene and residue
- Evaluate the aspects that are relevant to product quality, cleaning or the process environment.
- Recipes and raw materials
- Test how a changed recipe or material influences the process and the end result.
- Automation and line interaction
- Verify how equipment, pneumatic transport and control work together as part of the complete process.
Test and analyze your actual product
The same machine can perform differently depending on the material being processed. Product properties influence how material moves through equipment and can affect both process performance and final product quality. That is why we test with your actual product wherever possible. Instead of relying only on calculations or simulation, we can see what happens when the material passes through the proposed process.
Where relevant, we first analyze the product in our quality laboratory. These findings help determine what needs to be measured during the practical test and how the setup should be configured.

Verify the complete installation before shipment
Process validation and factory acceptance testing serve different stages of the project. Once the final installation has been built, complete systems can be assembled and verified in the FAT hall before shipment.
For a complete line, verification can cover the agreed output and capacity as well as the required product quality. Pneumatic transport and the complete automation can also be checked as part of the installed process. Where the project requires it, this work is carried out together with the customer and with the actual product. If adjustments are required, they can be made while the installation is still at Dinnissen. The line reaches the customer’s site with more of the critical preparation already completed.

Move critical start-up work to Dinnissen
For complete production lines, the D-Innocenter supports Dinnissen’s Vertical Start-up approach. The line is assembled at Dinnissen as it will later operate at the customer’s site. After the process and installation have been verified, the system is divided into skid frames and shipped.
On site, the focus shifts to installing and connecting the skids and completing the final test run. Because more technical preparation has already been completed in Sevenum, fewer issues need to be resolved during commissioning.
The Vertical Start-up concept shows what this can mean in practice. The customer has already seen the line operate with the actual product and can verify the agreed quality and performance requirements before shipment.
FAT in practice: NZIC
For New Zealand Independent Cement, Dinnissen assembled the complete process line in Sevenum for a factory acceptance test before shipment to New Zealand.
During the FAT, NZIC and project partner Skookum were able to see the complete line in operation and identify operational improvements before dispatch. Because the initial testing took place at Dinnissen, there was also less need for testing support after shipment.

For new production lines and existing processes
The D-Innocenter can support the development of a new production line as well as changes to an existing process. For a new line, physical testing provides data before final engineering starts. For an existing process, a planned change can be evaluated before it reaches the production floor. This gives you practical information while the process can still be adjusted, without using your own production environment for trial and error.
From process question to test results
Every test starts with a specific question. We determine the setup and measurements based on your product and the result you need to achieve.
1. Define the process question
We determine what needs to be validated and what result the process needs to achieve.
2. Examine the product
Where relevant, we analyze the material in our quality laboratory to understand the properties that may influence the test.
3. Build the test setup
We select and combine the equipment required to reproduce the relevant part of your process.
4. Test and collect data
Your actual product runs through the setup while we record the data needed to answer the process question.
5. Apply the results
The findings are used as input for final engineering and the required equipment settings.

Part of Dinnissen system integration
The D-Innocenter is part of our system integration approach. Because testing and engineering take place within Dinnissen, findings from the D-Innocenter can be incorporated directly into the process design.
The same connection continues later in the project when the completed installation is prepared for shipment and commissioning. What is tested in Sevenum feeds directly into what is ultimately installed at your production site.

Frequently asked questions about the D-Innocenter
1. What is the D-Innocenter?
The D-Innocenter is Dinnissen’s 2,000 m² facility in Sevenum for process testing, validation and factory acceptance testing. Customers can test their actual product and process setup before final engineering. Complete installations can later be assembled and verified before shipment.
2. Why was the D-Innocenter developed?
The D-Innocenter moves important testing and verification to an earlier stage of the project. It gives customers more certainty about process performance and product quality before implementation and reduces the amount of technical work that remains during start-up.
3. What is the difference between process testing and FAT?
Process testing is used to validate how the proposed process works with the actual product before final engineering. Factory acceptance testing takes place after the installation has been built and is used to verify the completed system before shipment.
4. Can I test a single machine?
Yes. A test can focus on one machine or on several machines combined into a process setup. The configuration depends on the process question you want to answer.
5. Can I test my own product?
Yes. Testing with your actual product allows us to see how the material behaves in the proposed process. This gives practical information that calculations and simulations alone cannot always provide.
6. What can be tested in the D-Innocenter?
Testing can focus on product quality, capacity, product behavior, dust, recipes or planned process changes. For complete lines, pneumatic transport and automation can also be verified as part of the installed process.
7. What is the role of the quality laboratory?
Where relevant, the material is analyzed before the practical test starts. The findings help determine how the test should be configured and which parameters need to be measured.
8. Can the D-Innocenter be used for an existing production process?
Yes. A planned process change can be tested before it is introduced into production. This allows you to evaluate the effect without using your production line as the test environment.
9. How can the D-Innocenter help shorten commissioning?
Process questions can be answered before final engineering, while the completed installation can later be verified before shipment. With Vertical Start-up, the complete line is assembled and checked in Sevenum before it is divided into skid frames and shipped. By completing more of this work in advance, the time required for commissioning on site can be reduced considerably.
10. How do I start a test at the D-Innocenter?
Start with the process question you want to answer and the result you need to achieve. Together, we determine the required test setup and the data that needs to be collected. Contact Łukasz Patyk, Manager D-Innocenter, at +31 6 89910897 or [email protected].
